Easter Festival in our hood

Falls River had a neighborhood easter egg hunt along with some other festivities this weekend. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast. Unfortunately we were 1 minute late to the easter egg hunt, which apparently is also as long as the hunt lasted, but she had some super nice friends that shared thier eggs with her, so her basket didn't go hungry. There were lots of other festivities though, including a bouncy house, animals to pet and ride, a catipiller tunnel, and of course the Easter Bunny. First I must say, the cruelest thing I think you can ever do to a chicken is when it's a baby chick put it in a box and toss in the middle of a bunch of kids who just went wild over plastic eggs. The chicks were super cute and Macy was so excited to hold it, but man did I feel bad for them. They deserve a special place in chicken heaven for having to endure the poking and squeezing from little hands that don't know any better. We just put it in Macy's dress so she wasn't actually holding it because I've seen how she hugs the cat. We also talked Macy into a pony rides which she reluctantly seemed to enjoy. We waited in line for the much begged for bouncy house for 30 minutes for her to jump for 30 second before having a melt down that she was in a bouncy house. Luckily the Easter Bunny meeting went much better than anticipated. She gave him a high five and sat next to him long enough for me to take 2 pictures before she realized she was sitting next to this giant scary thing and we were way to far away. The weather was fabulous and it was a lot of fun even though it was followed by her saying "everything is scary."
