It's been a busy April so far

Lets see, we started the month off with a fun Easter Festival in our neighborhood, for more details look at the previous posts. Then we went to the zoo with the Redlus family. We took advantage of the SUV and brought Macy's wagon, which was a huge hit. Macy and Kaden had a blast being pulled around in it. I think they definitely enjoyed themselves because by the end of the day they looked completely wiped out. Then Auntie Kellie made a yummy cake for the girls decorate, which they absolutely loved doing, and much to my surprise Macy actually put some decorations on the cake, not just in her tummy. Although when it came time to eat the cake, Macy said "no thank you, I just want my vitamin." Not sure who's kid she is, I know I've never passed up a piece of cake for a vitamin (or anything for that matter). Then we decorated Easter eggs which she took great pride in doing even though she won't eat them either, "I doesn't like it". The in our desperate itch for a vacation, we went to Wilmington for the day with the Bates family. It was a fun packed day with a visit to the aquarium, then to Fort Fisher (a historical civil war site) and finally for some sand castle building time at the beach. The weather was beautiful and despite no naps, the girls were in great spirits all day. Macy even outlasted Neil on the way home. Although that doesn't say much, I think Macy could out last all of us 10 times over these days. Finally for Easter, we started the day off with an egg hunt at home, which was more of a constant reminder to Macy to keep looking for eggs and to not open them until she found them all. When she finally did get to open them, I learned a very important lesson, she couldn't care less about money right now and given the choice between candy or stickers, candy wins hands down. When she opened the first egg with money she said "I want candy". She loved the presents the Easter bunny left especially her roller skates "Roller Skates are my favorite". Then we overstuffed ourselves with brunch at Micheal Deans, which if you haven't been you must go! (be sure to make a reservation it packs up quickly when church lets out) Macy is very into helping me cook these days, so I let her help make my favorite dessert, mini cherry cheesecakes. She was a super helper and blew me away with how little instruction she needed, at the same time I see more and more OCD in her everyday. Then we continued the binge fest with dessert at Nana Barbara's house. Where Macy declared every two minutes "It's chocolate time". It's hard to believe it's only been two weeks. We've definitely been having a blast. Click here to view pictures from this post, including proof that we do drag Tyler to do all this stuff too, even though he sleeps through 99%. If you're still reading this kudos to you.

Tyler - 3 Months already

"Hmmm, let me think about this for a minute."
Posted by PicasaWell, tomorrow is 3 months, CRAZY! I'm amazed how fast the time has gone. I feel like the first few months with Macy were so long, but with Tyler the time is flying by. He's talking up a storm these days and is such a happy go lucky little guy. He absolutely loves his changing table, it's a sure fire way to make him smile. Macy is still infatuated with him. She now talks to him the same way I do which is hysterical. My favorite things she says are "where's my smiley boy" and "hi my little myty." He loves his hands and has started to play with toys. His favorite is a surfing ducking which he loves to eat.

Life lesson

How to save your ball when your uncle Phil kicks it over the fence of a historical civil war fort:
Lesson learned: Do not let Uncle Phil hold your favorite ball at historical sites.

I'm for sale?

and apparently I'm cheap because I'm for sale at a gas station. This was just a sign we saw on the way to the zoo that I thought was funny.

the difference two months make

This was my mother's idea. Every month (or so) to take a picture of Tyler on the same blanket wearing a 12 month old onesie. So here you go mom... I'll try better to do it actually on his birth date each month, but better late then never right.

Easter Festival in our hood

Falls River had a neighborhood easter egg hunt along with some other festivities this weekend. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast. Unfortunately we were 1 minute late to the easter egg hunt, which apparently is also as long as the hunt lasted, but she had some super nice friends that shared thier eggs with her, so her basket didn't go hungry. There were lots of other festivities though, including a bouncy house, animals to pet and ride, a catipiller tunnel, and of course the Easter Bunny. First I must say, the cruelest thing I think you can ever do to a chicken is when it's a baby chick put it in a box and toss in the middle of a bunch of kids who just went wild over plastic eggs. The chicks were super cute and Macy was so excited to hold it, but man did I feel bad for them. They deserve a special place in chicken heaven for having to endure the poking and squeezing from little hands that don't know any better. We just put it in Macy's dress so she wasn't actually holding it because I've seen how she hugs the cat. We also talked Macy into a pony rides which she reluctantly seemed to enjoy. We waited in line for the much begged for bouncy house for 30 minutes for her to jump for 30 second before having a melt down that she was in a bouncy house. Luckily the Easter Bunny meeting went much better than anticipated. She gave him a high five and sat next to him long enough for me to take 2 pictures before she realized she was sitting next to this giant scary thing and we were way to far away. The weather was fabulous and it was a lot of fun even though it was followed by her saying "everything is scary."
